Hey, all some of you may know me already but if you don’t let me introduce myself: Hi, I’m Binti. I’ve been working at KK for a few months now and it’s truly opened my eyes up to dating, relationships and also dating in lockdown. Here at Kismet, we pride ourselves on the community that we have built up from scratch. We want to be here for you and help you find that special someone.
We’ve been around for quite some time now and are expanding to make everything bigger to support you all better. So what are you waiting for? Come and get involved! We have virtual events that take place regularly, admins that are more than happy to help, alongside a beautiful community and a matchmaking service that has just launched. Our virtual events are a great way of meeting new people from the comfort of your own home! All you have to do is purchase tickets from our website and use the link that gets sent to you. I know this can be seen as daunting to many especially if it is out of your comfort zone but the more you attend the more comfortable you’ll feel and you’ll become very familiar with our hosts, admins and regular members. You can make friends for life and even find a lifelong partner.
We have a large community on Facebook where interactions and connections are made on a daily basis. Relationships are a complicated topic because in life we create many relationships, some of which become a learning experience, and some that are there for life. Finding that partner who ticks all your boxes can be tricky, especially when you know exactly what you’re looking for, but always remember to keep your heart and mind open because sometimes the most unexpected people can end up meaning the most to us. Try to give someone the chance and look beyond your list of expectations because, without sounding cringe, it’s the chemistry and what’s in the inside that counts. Dating in lockdown, where do I even begin! I know quite a few people who have been trying to keep up connections without having actually met a person and it can be quite challenging, but this is why we created our virtual events. We wanted to make it easier for people to stay connected and have a date-like scenario during the pandemic whilst staying safe. If you have any views about dating in lockdown or any stories, I would love to hear about them! I have found that lockdown has made a lot of people feel lonelier than usual. Without those daily interactions with work colleagues, friends and people outside our current support bubble, life has become repetitive and I do feel as if I have been living the same day over and over again. However, it has made me appreciate the relationships I have with those whom I live with, and social media for helping me stay connected to those who are important to me but not able to meet.
The current rule of being allowed to meet one person outdoors for a picnic makes it a lot easier for people to really get to know someone and see what they are like in person.
