My time at Kismet Konnections…
Hey all, I just wanted to start off by saying what an amazing time I’ve had working for Kismet Konnections. Not only have I learnt more than I could ever have expected too, but I made some great friends along the way. I never thought I would be a part of something this special where everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Sadly, it’s my time to move on and I know that I’ll be hearing more great things about Kismet in the near future. The beginning of my journey with the company seems like such a long time ago now because of how comfortable I’ve become with my co-workers and the KK members! When I first started with the company it was whilst we were still in lockdown which made things difficult as we were all required to think outside the box. However, I do feel like we did everything in our power to create memorable events for you all from the comfort of your own home. Our aim was to make sure that our members could experience dating however through virtual methods rather than normal face to face meetings. We did find that using the platform Zoom allowed us to create speed dating events for all age ranges. Over the three-month period from January to March, we had regular speed date events and game nights where you could meet other members from the group and get to know them on a deeper level. If you felt a connection was made with someone then you would report back to one of our admins and let us know who caught your eye and we would then find out if they felt that same spark. I did find that a lot of feedback we received was from members telling us that the virtual events allowed them to connect better through digital methods which they may not have used and been aware of before; Zoom, Skype and FaceTime. To Gen-Z, this is normal to and sometimes we actually prefer using social media, however for the older generation this is seen as something fairly new. Lockdown will forever be laid down in history as it’s a time period in our lives that we won’t forget. However, lockdown allowed us to take different routes and paths that we wouldn’t have ever gone down, but sometimes change is good and allows us to see things differently. Now that we are out of lockdown and shops, restaurants and everything has opened up again, I’m excited to say that our “in-person” mingling events are back on, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for upcoming events in both London and Birmingham. We recently just had an event in London that was super successful and everyone had a lovely time.
